 Families and Fathers

MHFV was one the few agency's that was provided funds from SAMHSA to assist with educating , equipping and engaging with Fathers, Family Members and Intimate partners to help empower the ladies recovery journey. The uniqueness about our RISE program is that it allows me to build a rapport with family members, fathers and a healthy support system. Before the environmental issues I was able to meet families at their residence, coffee shops, etc.

Hindsight, that served as a great ice breaker and also opportunity for Unconditional Positive Regard (UPR ), which is accepting people where they are with out judgement.

In becoming a part of their healthy recovery process, the ladies must sign a ROI for anyone of the support system. The support system must be deemed healthy and safe for the mothers recovery process. Once that is done the father family advocate contacts them and does a screening, assessment and presentation. This collaboration provides the Father Family Advocate to creatively motivate the fathers , family members and or system of care in a unique way by in which there being Empowered instead of enabled. The psychoeducational material in our classes are taught to family members , fathers and system of care virtually and in person during our family event once a month.

Addiction is family disease that affects the entire family , therefore the recovery process should include a system (family members) that cares.
